Girl Time

My oldest daughter and I rarely get time alone. She has been asking for some special time for awhile now, and finally last Friday we found some! We took full advantage, too.~ First we stopped at the salon and had pedicures complete with fancy flowers. We followed that with a sweet treat, and then decided our fancy tootsies needed some jewelry so we high-tailed it to every 9 year old girl's favorite spot; Claires. We finished our time together with a stop at a bookstore. We both love to read and can spend hours searching out new titles.

Gosh I love this girl! Her wish for more alone time came true as Saturday night we headed to the ER fearing she had appendicitis. (Thank God, she did not!) But spending 4 hours in the hospital and then the next day snuggling with Mommy has hit the spot with this little Mommy's girl.

Come Follow Me

Matthew 11:28 reads "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Sometimes in life burdens seem too much to bear. But Jesus bids us to follow Him and we will know peace like no other. This bracelet is now available on eBay. Wear it as a reminder to follow Him.

Eternal Love Photo Necklace & Stamped Bracelet

Wow, two posts in one night~!
Now you no longer have to choose between a photo pendant or an eternity style pendant. I have combined the two and I'm very pleased with the outcome.

I also created a great simple bracelet for every day. With a stamped sterling silver oval shaped pendant and sterling silver chain it's the perfect piece for back to school. Both are available by clicking the title on ebay. They are also available for immediate purchase on etsy.

Studio Preview

I've been planning and dreaming about re-decorating my studio for the two years we have lived in this house. I always knew I wanted to paint the walls pink, but I wasn't sure where I wanted to take it. Did I want pink & black Parisian Chic? Shabby Chic? When I finally found these fabrics in the Summer in the City line of fabrics I knew *exactly* what I wanted to do. I have decided the theme is "Shabby Whimsy". I have incorporated all my favorite colors; pink, robin's egg blue and apple green. We are not completely finished, but here is a sneak peek! The white table started as a red table, the wicker chest was natural color and my apple green soldering table was a light oak color. Now they all have a happy new outlook.

Our Trip to the Windy City

We 5 embarked on Sunday with another family for a road trip to Chicago. The main intent was to take the girls to the American Girl store with side benefits of spending time with friends and the boys could go to the Museum of Science and Industry.

The weather was gorgeous. We stayed a few blocks from the miracle mile and thoroughly enjoyed our time walking the beautiful streets of downtown Chicago. This is me and the girls before we left for the store. They were wearing their SweetHeart Name Necklaces http://swedeatheart.com/boutique/product_info.php?products_id=97 and their Shabby Rose tanks of course! http://swedeatheart.com/boutique/product_info.php?cPath=17&products_id=84

We took the dolls to the hair salon where they were coiffed and readied for our tea.

The tea was wonderful and the girls really enjoyed the pink and black dining room and the tea. The store is 3 floors of American Girl wonderland. We enjoyed the historical doll's area where we could see all the scenes. In the bookstore we purchased a book about Kirsten's times to read about life as a Swedish settler in the US. We also were able to do some shopping on the Miracle mile and visit the beach one evening. All in all it was a great trip. I hope we will be able to go again soon and see more of what Chicago has to offer. We were definitely wishing we had a few more days to sight-see. I don't want to bore you with more photos, so if you'd like to see more of our trip, click my flickr badge below. :)
