Have You Ever Played Where's Waldo?

This weekend I had a photography session at a local gym. I had such a wonderful time helping them launch their new Les Mills Body Pump, Body Jam, and Body Flow choreograhpy. I shot the classes from several angles as well as more detailed shots. As it happened, I learned a very good lesson. When taking photos in front of a large wall of mirrors, make sure to take them from an angle that does not show the camera! Can you find me here:

What about here:

It's hard to choose a favorite from the day, but I will leave you with this beautiful silhouette from Body Flow. Body Flow is a combination of yoga, pilates and tai chi set to contemporary music. It is a beautiful and challenging class.

Revenge of the Birthday Cake

Yes, I admit I had a birthday this month. No, I'm not 10,I just had 10 candles. Each candle represents how many days it took me to polish off my amazing cake. A coworker of dh specializes in wedding cakes, and took pity on me, a lowly tax widow, and made one for me, as well as decorating a gluten free version for my son. (yes, I finished that one as well) So the big question is, do my jeans still fit? Yes, but barely.

I was reading this month's Self magazine and I came across an interesting article. It addressed finding your "happy weight". I did the calculations and found that my happy weight is the weight I maintained all my adult life until after I had our last baby. Unfortunately, that is about 10 pounds from here. So that is my goal for this spring, to reach that weight again. I know once I'm there I can maintain it without starving myself or working out incessantly. I managed 3 good workouts last week, hopefully I will get 4-5 this week.

The Last Day with this Smile

10 gets her braces tomorrow. It's funny, because I feel a little sad about it. This is the last time her smile will look like this. Parenting is rife with these bittersweet moments.

Miracles Do Happen

The kids cleaned up on their own, and 8 vacuumed on his own accord! I kept waiting for the heavens to open...

To Tri, or Not to Tri, That is the Question

I was bummed (overjoyed) to realize we will be out of the country at the time of the triathlon I had planned on doing. I had decided that instead I would do a local 1/2 marathon and then plan for the tri in '09. So imagine my pleasure when I was searching online for cute and not man-ish cycling clothes and came across this. They offer several women only tri's. I think the one in Austin may be a contender as the weather should be nice, and it will definitely fit in our summer plans. But this now leads me to the question, can I do it? I'll keep you posted.

On the subject of training, I have been getting in my workouts since Christmas break, and I would like to find a workout tracker that I could put in the sidebar of the blog. If anyone knows of one, please email it to me!

While you're at the danskin website, be sure to check out the cute tri skort. I think I will be purchasing one forthwith.

A Song

A School Day
(Sung to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb, with feeling)
The kids went back to school today, school today,
school today,
The kids went back to school today,
HIP! HIP! HOORAY!
